how perfectly hosted began…

This all started with my personal dream of having a beach vacation rental that I could go to with my family, which would be paid for by my rental income. I imagined myself managing my own property, conversing with guests, and relishing in their feedback on how much they loved my home. When the dream finally became a reality in 2019 and my husband and I bought our first beach property, I didn’t dare start out managing our home. I didn’t know what taxes needed to be paid, where to find a housekeeper, how to market the property, and the list goes on… So, I committed to one year with a large property management company. Within six months, I realized that no one would maintain our home the way I would and caught onto the hidden fees that the large-scale property management companies bake into rates that are outside the rent portion in which owners get paid on. The experience was necessary in my journey. We finally terminated and I began managing our home.

That was the inception of something bigger for me. My love for everything “Short-Term Rentals” continued to grow.  I helped several owners launch themselves into “self-managers” for their properties by offering them the knowledge that I gained and I continued to educate myself in best practices and processes.  Then, a good friend purchased a beach house near ours and she went through the same less-than-positive experience with a property management company.  One day over lunch, she asked me to manage her beautiful home.  She knew that I had a strong passion for doing this and she wanted to feel like her home was not just a product, but rather a precious piece of real estate. And the Perfectly Hosted dream began to unfold….  I have since managed multiple properties, consulted with owners that wanted the fast track to self-managing their own property, and have helped acquire properties for those that had dreams of owning their own beach homes. I have loved every minute of it!
